The highest good is like water.
Water give life to the ten thousand things
and does not strive.
It flows in places men reject
and so is like the Tao.

In dwelling, be close to the land.
In meditation, go deep in the heart.
In dealing with others, be gentle and kind.
In speech, be true.
In ruling, be just.
In daily life, be competent.
In action, be aware of the time and the season.

No fight: No blame.

Happy St. Patricks day everyone! I decided to sleep in this morning, and wouldn’t you know it, I was wide awake at 4AM. But I stayed in bed, and simply drifted from thought to thought. This same state continued while I basked in the rising sun this morning. It felt really nice. Our mornings are warming up a bit … read more

“Speak only the speech that neither torments self nor does harm to others. That speech is truly well spoken.”

What a gorgeous sunrise this morning!

And while I watched the sun come up, tending to my meditation, in the background, my mind was having a good old time chattering away about a conversation that I had yesterday. It was difficult, bringing the mind back to the post of stillness this morning.

I was working with a client, and what needed to be said was very challenging for me. In many ways, it is why I have always preferred writing, as it allows for more time to fashion and deliver messages. read more

“The mind is like a room that is always full with all sorts of stuff.   There is no free space there.   When it is emptied, it becomes filled with peace of mind.”

I’ve been diligently working on a project the last few days, and my mind has been pretty active. Today, it’s as though mind knows we are going to yoga. It feels empty, creating space for what my teacher will offer me today.

Because of other pressing priorities, I haven’t been to class in three weeks. I’ve really missed it. While I maintain a home practice, practice within a group somehow seems to create more space, as there is less ‘doing’ since I can get into someone else’s flow without having to think of my own. read more

“Taking pictures is savoring life intensely, every hundredth of a second.”
~ Marc Riboud

I’ll keep it short and sweet today. If we get a good night’s sleep, that leaves us 16 hours in a day, 960 minutes, 57,600 seconds. Times that by a hundredth.

There are almost too many split seconds to count. May you savor as many of those split seconds, minutes and hours as you can today …. I know I’m going to ♥

And happy birthday Mom!

I patiently and lovingly waited to see if mother nature would create another spectacular display this morning. I had a cosmic giggle, as the single beam of light heralded through the thick layers of clouds. “God … I’m here, I’m here .. !!”.

LOL …. But in all seriousness, I do think this is how it will appear when my time comes to rejoin the cosmic universe. read more

“Beautiful tomorrow never comes,
For when it comes, it’s already today …
In the search for beautiful tomorrow,
Don’t lose your wonderful today …”

Holy Camole !!! You’d think after living here for 20+ years, that I’d learn not to rely on the Puerto Rico weatherman. Here I was ‘expecting’ crystal clear skies … Needless to say, I was a bit surprised to find cloudy skies once again this morning …

But WOW !! The layers of clouds produced one of the most beautiful sunrises to date. I was having a tough time choosing between 2 photos (to be posted later), when Spencer got up to refresh his coffee, and yelled … Get over here …. Look at the sky now!! read more

“I asked the leaf whether it was frightened because it was

autumn and the other leaves were falling. The leaf told me,

“No. During the whole spring and summer I was completely

alive. I worked hard to help nourish the tree, and now much

of me is in the tree. I am not limited by this form. I am also

the whole tree, and when I go back to the soil, I will continue

to nourish the tree. So I don’t worry at all. As I leave this

branch and float to the ground, I will wave to the tree and tell

her, ‘I will see you again very soon.’” read more
