“No one looks back on their life and remembers the nights they got plenty of sleep.”

It’s carnival time here in the VI, and I’m glad our weather is being highly cooperative!

Last night would have been J’ouvert (pronounced Joo-Vay), which is an all night battle of the bands and party in the streets. I had to chuckle to myself… As after my own late night party with friends on Tuesday night, I was asleep last night around 8PM, which meant I was wide awake without my alarm well before today’s gorgeous sunrise. read more

An anthropologist proposed a game to the kids in an African tribe. He put a basket full of fruit near a tree and told the kids that who ever got there first won the sweet fruits. When he told them to run they all took each others hands and ran together, then sat together enjoying their treats. When he asked them why they had run like that as one could have had all the fruits for himself they said: ''UBUNTU, how can one of us be happy if all the other ones are sad?'' “True friendship multiplies the good in life and divides its evils. Strive to have friends, for life without friends is like life on a desert island… To find one real friend in a lifetime is good fortune; to keep him is a blessing.”

Good morning friends! I was up late last night, with a friend who came over for dinner, drinks and a night of sharing friendship. As we poured one last round, which undoubtedly should have stayed in the bottle, she asked if we had anything that we needed to get up early for? read more

“There is a pleasure in the pathless woods, There is a rapture on the lonely shore, There is society, where none intrudes, By the deep sea, and music in its roar: I love not man the less, but Nature more.”

What a splendid and still morning it is! So much life today amidst the stillness, as a beautiful hummingbird flew by me while I sat, stopping to look me in the eye, before zooming off. The sea gulls are back, and a pack of three soared above, exercising their voice in unison. Even my cats were up early, hunting for whatever they can scrounge up. read more

“Until a man duplicates a blade of grass, Nature can laugh at his so-called scientific knowledge. Remedies from chemicals will never stand in favorable comparison with the products of Nature, the living cell of a plant, the final result of the rays of the sun, the mother of all life.”

Happy Earth Day! the blazing, bright yellow sun seemed to call out today. Yes, you are my sunshine, my only sunshine! And my only Mother Earth, which I hold in the highest of regard. read more

“The moment you feel like giving up is when you’re introduced to two things: your limits, and your opportunity to go past those limits.”

Another slow, cloudy sunrise gave me plenty of time to be still, hearing the echos in my mind amidst the divine’s heart and knowing. What are your intentions for me, I ask? Which way do I turn ?

This past week, with all the turmoil in the world around me, I’ve been looking at limits.  It’s what I do for a living as an entrepreneur and consultant, for myself and for others. I look at limits, and I identify opportunity. And in the pit of my stomach, I sense fear. I wouldn’t be human if I didn’t. Fear … False Evidence Appearing Real. As I live in the now, there is no fear. Things are good amidst a life filled with opportunity. As I am asked to create the future, looking at a slippery slope, things uncertain, fear tries to creep in. And at the top of the hill of uncertainty, with moguls on the course, I look behind me at how far I’ve come, the opportunity that lies ahead, and I say again … read more

“People desire to separate their worlds into polarities of dark and light, ugly and beautiful, good and evil, right and wrong, inside and outside. Polarities serve us in our learning and growth, but as souls we are all.”

The sky glowed a gorgeous purplish-red this morning, but I have yet to see the glow of the sun. Very apropos for how I am feeling today …

So just as Ghandi predicted, truth and love have won. The villains has been killed and captured. Yet I found the displays of patriotism in the streets to be highly distasteful. Was it just me?? Was the capture of the ‘terrorists’ truly cause for ‘celebration’ in the streets? As though the events of the past few days were like a sporting event ?!?! read more

“The good news is that the moment you decide that what you know is more important than what you have been taught to believe, you will have shifted gears in your quest for abundance. Success comes from within, not from without.”

It’s a cool and very breezy morning here on St. Thomas. And it took a while for the sun to make it’s ascent above a bank of clouds. It gave me time to sit and ponder on intuition, the inner knowing, and self-healing.

The center of intuition is commonly referred to as the Third Eye. From a spiritual standpoint, I figured that this concept probably was more prominent in Hindu and Buddhist philosophy, but was interested to find the most common reference on the subject actually comes from Christianity and the Bible … read more

Don’t look further for answers: be the solution. You were born with everything you need to know. Make a promise to stop getting in the way of the blessing that you are. Take a deep breath, remember to have fun, and begin.

Today’s red sunrise is dedicated to LOVE. To a day of new beginnings, as it always is, no matter what craziness is going on in the world.

I could literally feel the warmth and love in this sunrise, asking me to turn off my mind, feeling from the heart. Entering the space where there is no judgment. To trust in love. read more
