“Nothing that is outside of you can make you feel sad, angry, weak or disheartened … Without YOUR permission. Don’t put your button out there to be pushed. Develop the attitude of ‘I don’t mind, and it doesn’t matter’.”

Ah! It’s nice to wake up to another day, clear skies, and a light passing rain shower to clear the air. Our weather guys say we’ll have two sunny days, before possibly another tropical wave rolls through on Sunday. Hello Summer!
“Happiness depends on ourselves.”
~ Aristotle
According to the National Weather Service, June 2013 is the 10th rainiest June on record for us here in St. Thomas. It’s certainly felt more overcast than normal !!
And it’s a known fact that weather can and does effect our moods.
Research has proven that warm temperatures and exposure to sunshine have the greatest positive impact on moods. A report published in the British Journal of Psychology found that warmer temperatures lowered anxiety and skepticism, while more hours of sunshine increased positive thinking. The same study showed that high levels of humidity made it hard to concentrate, increasing fatigue and sleepiness. A friend of mine also has concluded that high levels of Sahara dust (or air pollution) also increases fatigue, as it makes it harder to breathe.

Oh boy, our weather is outright angry this morning! Praying for my boyfriend, who has a full day charter today, that this passes on out of here!!
Sort of like those times in life, when things aren’t going so well. You hope the clouds will pass quickly!!
I’ve always wondered where this quote came from. As an optimist, I’ve said it plenty of times …
According to TheBestBrainPossible.com, studies have shown that after hardship, people generally experienced positive change in five areas:
“Concentrate all your thoughts on the task at hand.
The sun’s rays do not burn until brought to a focus.”
~ Alexander Graham Bell
Ah! This morning’s sunrise was just delicious!! It’s been a while since we’ve had clear enough skies for a true “sun rise”. And I couldn’t have asked for a more appropriate photo or a quote to express my thoughts today.
Yesterday, I asked a friend and client to focus. Actually, it was more of a plea and a mandate than a request. And I have to chuckle this morning. Because after two weeks of feeling pretty diffused myself, I’m expecting that when I snap my little coaching fingers, she will be able to turn her focus on, just like that. But, oh, how I hope so LOL ….
“Creativity isn’t about wild talent as much as it’s about productivity. To find new ideas that work, you need to try a lot that don’t. It’s a pure numbers game.”
~ Robert Sutton
Hello Monday! It was nice to wake up this morning to the sounds and smells of a passing rain shower. It felt cleansing, right along with the waning of this super moon. How was everyone’s Super Moon last night? From my vantage point, I’ve seen better. But people have shared some truly stunning photos from other parts of the world. I’ve had to chuckle at how well social media has marketed this natural event. What’s next, I wonder?
“The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.”

After eleven straight mornings of dust and clouds, it’s nice to be able to post a photo this morning with some color in it !! A perfect day to be outside or on the water.
I have a lot to be grateful for.
First, I am grateful to the fact I have 318 FB friends! That’s 300 more than I expected when I joined Facebook 4+ years ago. As I reflect further on yesterday’s post, I suppose what makes me sad about my lurking friends is this: In my humble opinion, I think they are missing the wonderful opportunity that Facebook offers. Which is to connect.
“Words are easy, like the wind; Faithful friends are hard to find.”
~ William Shakespeare
Good morning faithful friends Yesterday was summer solstice … The longest “daylight” of the year, as well as the midway point. Thank for taking time each day to share in my journey. You are appreciated. All 53 of you, 25 of you who I am grateful to have as friends outside of this digital world. As for the rest of you, I hope we have the pleasure of meeting one day!
In real life, according to Facebook, I have 318 friends. I personally know most of my FB friends, but a handful, I’ve “friended” because we share something in common, and they are active in the world of Facebook. And I enjoy being able to interact with them.
