“When you know who you are; when your mission is clear and you burn with the inner fire of unbreakable will; no cold can touch your heart; no deluge can dampen your purpose. You know that you are alive.”
~ Chief Seattle, Duwamish (1780-1866)

Wow, what a stormy morning here in the VI with lots of thunder and lightening, which always make me feel very connected to mother earth. The colors of the sky were really amazing and ominous! The heavy thunder prompted me to search out for an American Indian Teaching. And as I do so, I’m sending out positive vibes that this little wave will hurry out out of here for all my friends participating in our Annual Chili Cookoff today. Good luck one and all !!! read more

“Life can only be understood backwards; but it must be lived forwards.” ~ Søren KierkegaardIt took the sunrise quite a while before it came brilliantly shining through the clouds this morning. And wow, my mind is just blazing with thought. Made it hard to sit for my meditation, but this is exactly what sitting is all about. Call it emotional command. Being able to sit, when mind is thrashing about, and quickly coming into stillness and letting those thoughts bubble away, even if for just a brief time 😉

As things are winding down here, so is my work with my clients. And as it’s crunch time, I’ve been amazed at what has just magically appeared.

I cannot re-iterate enough how important it is to journal, to dream board, creatively doodle, etc. And keep all of these things organized, to be looked through at least once a year. When we are truly tied into our divine higher being, which appears when the thinking mind lets go, I believe the creations that come of it hold the answers to our true purpose and passion here on this planet. read more

“Let whatever happens, be what needs to happen, so that I may awaken.”
~ T. Scott McLeod, All That Is Unspoken

Beautiful day here, and I hope it is in your neck of the world as well 🙂

TGIF …. It seems yesterday that I thought it was Wednesday, I’m surprised to find this morning that it’s Friday LOL.

So as I’ve been cleaning house, it’s given me alot of time to think. And yesterday, a friend left me a very kind message, thanking me for the work that I do. read more

Another hazy morning here in the VI, with more tropical storm busting sahara dust in the air. While I appreciate the storm busting – as we have another entity that just launched off the coast of Africa – I’ve been waking up with a very scratchy throat. All this dust can’t be so great for our lungs. No wonder I’ve been waking up early, as 3AM-5AM is lung time on our biological clocks … Lungs are ready for that clean mountain air I’ll soon be enjoying 🙂 read more

“It’s déjà vu all over again.”
~ Yogi Berra

What a beautiful still morning it is here today. No cat fights to wake me up. I was up on my own, before my alarm, and did a bit of yoga out on my yoga deck before the sunrise, followed by a bit of random web surfing before writing my post here, and as always, came up with some interesting things following what meditation revealed to me. Life if good

So I’ve been having little bits of déjà vu recently. And it’s interesting that there aren’t really too many quotes on the subject. And a read of the wiki on the subject matter is just as vague. read more

“You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection.”
~ Buddha

So I spoke yesterday about some of the mental factors that contribute to our own unhappiness. In short, Buddha grouped these states of mind into what he called The Three Poisons: Greed, Hatred (or Aversion) and Delusion (or Wrong View). There are actually 51 specific states of mind that the Buddha came to realize falling under these main three states.

For me, the good news when coming across the Buddha’s teachings was that I was not alone in my sad, sorry state of mind. Most everyone has these states of mind, some stronger than others. What this begins is a sort of letting go of self-hatred. Compassion towards oneself is extremely important as we begin this practice. No more thinking the “bad” thoughts, then following that up with negative self talk such as “Victoria, what a horrible person you are … A yogi shouldn’t think or act like that.” This is not helpful. read more
