“The mind can weave itself warmly in the cocoon of its own thoughts, and dwell a hermit anywhere.”
~ James Russell Lowell
I tossed and turned most of the night, so was glad to finally get up and see this beautiful sunrise, peaking through a light morning mist – just enough to leave our thirsty plants happy 🙂
We’ve been doing a repair on our ceiling, and have some drywall down, along with the curtains in our bedroom. It’s amazing what the mind senses even when asleep. I’m just that uncomfortable with being out “in the open”. It’s like that with yoga too, I like my own little cocoon …
“It’s easy for me. If I find I have to work at it, I’ve got the wrong job. What I’m doing is channeling.”
~ Morgan Freeman (about his role as an actor)
Love the light rain shower this morning, as I shared the sunrise with one of my young villa guests. And so goes life. As I was talking about yesterday, sometimes when things appear the cloudiest, it’s a sign that it’s time to move on.
How does this relate to the Morgan Freeman quote you may wonder. Some days when I write, I may have a particular theme in mind. Like today, I’m being directed to follow up on what I wrote about yesterday. But until I sit, and until my fingers hit the keyboard, I have no idea what will come about. And yesterday in particular. I’m not sure why I chose the subject. In a very real sense, I was channeling. And opening up to that amazing energy, I was being directed to help someone(s). I never know who, or what. And for a friend who wrote to me earlier this week on a very serious and painful note, I woke up in the middle of the night with so much streaming thought, I had to grab a pen and paper. I hope I’ll be able to decipher it later today to forward to you LOL ….
“The way to become One with the universe is to trust IT, as another, as you would another, and say ‘Let’s see what you’re going to do!'”
~ Alan Watts
As I sat as one with the universe this beautiful bright morning, I was reflecting on a post over on Alan Watts Wisdom, as well as a conversation I had with a friend and client regarding teaching empowerment – or more specifically, creating awareness around disempowerment, where it flows from and how to alter that attitude and orientation.
“May the sun bring you new energy by day, may the moon softly restore you by night, may the rain wash away your worries, may the breeze blow new strength into your being, may you walk gently through the world and know it’s beauty all the days of your life.”
~ Apache Blessing
So today, I bring the sun in it’s full shining glory. Often after the sun reaches the horizon, I begin the following mantra ….
Inhale compassion,
Exhale love.
Inhale love,
Exhale peace.
Inhale peace,
Exhale compassion.
(repeat, repeat, repeat).
