“The infinite wonders of the universe are revealed to us in exact measure as we are capable of receiving them. The keenness of our vision depends not on how much we can see, but on how much we feel.”
~ Helen Keller
“98% of your thoughts are a complete waste of time. They do nothing but freak you out.”
~ Michael Singer, author The Untethered Soul
What a beautiful morning here in the Virgin Islands. A light misting of rain from a passing cloud had just cleared the air as I woke up, making everything outside feel fresh and alive. Getting outside to be one with nature. I can’t think of a better way to set the tone for the day.
As I sat with my thoughts this morning, resting with self, watching thoughts drift by like the clouds, my mind caught on a phrase from a book I read over vacation, The Untethered Soul, by Michael Singer:
“Expect to have hope re-kindled. Expect your prayers to be answered in wondrous ways. The dry seasons in life do not last. The spring rains will come again.”
~ Sarah Ban Breathnach
I love this quote by Sarah B, author of the Simple Abundance: A Daybook of Comfort and Joy. It’s a book I’ve had on my Amazon wish list for some time.
I give gratitude every day to wake up to this beautiful sunrise. Be it rain or shine, it’s always a blessing, my simple abundance.
“Celebrate we will, for life is short, but sweet for certain !!”
~ David Matthews Band
Good morning friends. I’d like to start by wishing my boyfriend Spencer a very happy birthday.
On one hand, we won’t have too much time to lollygag today, as we have villa guests arriving tomorrow. We are literally “in the weeds” from the 12+ inches of rain we received while we were gone. And as you can see from my sunrise photo, November is typically our rainy season, and the days have continued to bring afternoon showers, making our clean-up a bit challenging.
“Letting go helps us to to live in a more peaceful state of mind and helps restore our balance.”
~ Melody Beattie, The Language of Letting Go
The sky held an amazing array of colors this morning: From beautiful reds at dawn, to a golden harvest yellow at sunrise, to a gorgeous silvery blue as the sun rose above the clouds. As I watched this spectacular display by mother nature, I was also watching my cat Namaste, who was intent on watching something in the grass below the deck.
