“At times you have to leave the city of your comfort and go into the wilderness of your intuition. What you’ll discover will be wonderful. What you’ll discover is yourself.”
~ Alan Alda
It’s a dreary morning here on St. Thomas, with high winds and quick moving showers overnight. But I love how the rays from the sun are streaming above the clouds. Probably how my brain is looking right now LOL
I spent a good part of yesterday afternoon brain storming with Spencer. We’ve had a few ideas, and I spent time doing research on the web to analyze the feasibility.
In late December, I was offered an opportunity to gain a 50% partnership in an on-line brokering business, but the gentleman hasn’t gotten back to me since making me the offer.
So I took some time yesterday to determine what he was really offering me. Can I not beat him at his own game? Seems pretty apparent that the only reason he wanted my aid is because he no longer is maintaining his site. So what was he really offering in exchange for maintaining 50% control?
I looked at his site, and thought …. I can clone that: Bigger, better and more user friendly.
St. Thomas has over a million cruise ship visitors each year. That’s over 80,000 people a month. Would you believe that the words “cruise ship excursions” is only googled 880 times a month? So Google’s Adwords tool is telling me that only 1% of all passengers are on-line looking to find excursions or day trips while on island.
In regards to Spencer’s daysail business, this says alot. He’s not going to get much traffic to his website through Google searching, as the keywords “St. Thomas Day Sail” was Googled even less … Only 100 times or so a month.
I’m wondering if there is a way to increase demand here?
From strictly a numbers game, if I captured all 880 people who googled me, I’d have to have an outstanding capture rate to cover my “Desires to Gold” figure.
What this proved to me is that I have the skills to build any type of website imaginable. The website that has the biggest funnel at the top will generate the most qualified leads on the bottom.
Think large, not small ….. What would help my fellow citizens here on St. Thomas, which would in turn provide a good payout to me, that isn’t already being provided?
Ken Blanchard is quoted as saying: “There’s a difference between interest and commitment. When you’re interested in doing something, you do it only when it’s convenient. When you’re committed to something, you accept no excuses; only results.”
I’m ready to focus. Ready to commit. My mind is ticking!
In the last chapter of Think & Grow Rich, Hill shared with us the top 10 stimuli that can prepare the mind to receive ideas, either through our subconscious, or the great storehouse of Infinite Intelligence.
The final 3 chapters and steps to success are all mind related:
1) Understanding & stimulating the subconscious mind for creativity
2) The brain as a broadcasting and receiving station
3) The sixth sense – intuition – or the door to the temple of wisdom
Hill then shares with us ways to overcome fear.
Infinite Intelligence, my receiving mind is open, awaiting the idea and the plan. I see the money.
How about you? How’s your plan coming along?
