“I am not offended by dumb blonde jokes because I know I’m not dumb……I also know I’m not blonde!

~  Dolly Parton

It’s the start to another month, and a heartfelt Happy Birthday goes out to my father.   Once again, mother nature shared her heart this morning through the fast moving clouds … I entitled this “Love Shining Down” <3

Yesterday, Napoleon Hill taught us that:

The Quality + Quantity + Spirit of Service we provide will determine the length of our employment.

I had to chuckle as my friend Bridgette experienced some of the worst harmonious conduct imaginable yesterday.   And I’m proud of her for keeping her QQS factor, yet courteously exiting a dismal conversation.  It can be hard sometimes to keep our cool !!

She was actually insulted by someone telling her that the rates she charges for her singing services were outrageous.

What does that mean?

Aside from the fact that this person’s employment should be terminated due to her discourteous behavior, we agreed that she just didn’t get the true value of Bridgette’s offering.   It’s not just an iPod and a Voice she brings to her entertainment, but she connects her aging, geriatric audience with joy.    I’ve seen the light that appears in the faces of these old, worn out, tired souls.    Sharing & creating that type of energy can be really hard to do !!  I sure couldn’t do it LOL …

I don’t know of anyone who offers more QQS than Bridgette!

So if we are giving it all we’ve got, Napoleon Hill says we’d better be compensated appropriately.  And he shares with us today what I like to think of as a Formula for Self Worth.

“The day of the “to getter” has been supplanted by the “go-giver”.

The actual capitalized value of your brainpower may be determined by the amount of income you can produce by marketing services.

As we all know, money or capital can be borrowed from a bank at a certain amount of interest.

Money is worth no more than our brains, and …. it is often worth much less.

SO … here’s the theory:

If our brainpower is as valuable as money, in effect, we should be lending our brainpower (or your capital) for at least the same rate that banks charge to lend money !!   In other words, what you earn in a year (your income) should be comparable to what banks earn from a loan in a year.

Interesting !!

Here’s Hill’s Formula:

100 ÷ the current interest rate X our annual income = value of our brainpower

An example would be:

100 ÷ 5% interest = 20

20 x $50,000 annual income = $1,000,000

Therefore, if we lend out our brainpower at the same rate banks lend money, our smarts are worth a whole heck of alot of money!

And, competent “brains” that are effectively marketed and utilized represent a much more desirable form of capital than the money that is required to conduct a business dealing in commodities.  Brains cannot be permanently depreciated, stolen or spent.

Moreover, the money is as worthless as a sand dune, until it has been mixed with efficient “brains”.

I love this !!     For all you other “brainiacs” out there … Each of our unique “smarts & talents” are worth a whole lot of money to the right person (including ourselves who own the asset)!!

Don’t ever let anyone tell you otherwise <3
