“We so often clear the clutter from our homes, but not our heads – do both!”
~ Watching Whales & Princess Sassy Pants
So today, I officially missed the sunrise. My iphone is there beside my bed, but I obviously didn’t set it. I awoke to the scream of two seagull, and my cats going nuts … Namaste peeping in this own unique way: “Peep-Peep” … “Wake Up”!
I went and lay back down. Oh, if you could only hear the chatter that was going on inside my head …
I don’t write this page just for the pretty picture. I write to clear the clutter from my brain. I write in the name of positive mental attitudes …. And neither seemed to be going on today …..
When I finally did get up, I am so very grateful to my Facebook scroll. Everything outside my head is screaming be positive :)!!
The above quote is the first thing I saw …
Then a post by my friend Anne …. A photo of a plant she calls Rose …. And she write: “Everything’s coming up roses. On this grey, overcast day, I am pleasantly surprised to spot buds on this most prolific of bushes. Bodes well for the day.”
Gosh, where would I be today without it …?? We must be so careful about what we allow to enter our minds. Buddha calls it guarding the sense doors. But that takes development of mindfulness. While I cleared out the physical clutter in my store room, it’s as though the energy of all that past somehow is now stuck in my head.
So Rule #1 of clearing clutter: Do it completely the first time.
It may be hard, but I promise you, that letter, that card you saved, to remind yourself something is real … Unless it is the most positive thing you’ve ever encountered, soak in the message when it arrives, then get rid of it ….
I’d suggest burning it ….
I’m just shocked at how much I’ve uncovered that I truly thought I’d gotten rid of … It has been long gone, forgotten, forgiven in my mind …. But to see the physical manifestation …. Nope, re-living it all again ….
And I’d rather not ….
