“There is a pleasure in the pathless woods, There is a rapture on the lonely shore, There is society, where none intrudes, By the deep sea, and music in its roar: I love not man the less, but Nature more.”
~ George Gordon, Lord Byron

What a splendid and still morning it is! So much life today amidst the stillness, as a beautiful hummingbird flew by me while I sat, stopping to look me in the eye, before zooming off. The sea gulls are back, and a pack of three soared above, exercising their voice in unison. Even my cats were up early, hunting for whatever they can scrounge up.

Yesterday was filled with electronic challenges. To the point that I envisioned myself moving to a hut in Bhutan – said to be the happiest place in the world – with only a pencil and raw materials to make my own paper. Can you imagine, LOL … Ah, to daydream!

In the end, it was worth the aggravation, as my internet is now 3x faster! Think of all the additional work I can now do, or might it be the distractions I can find. I’m blown away by all of the documentaries I can watch, glitch free, via streaming Netflix on my TIVO! And we watched a wonderful documentary ‘Where the Yellowstone Goes’, following the adventures of a group who travel for 30 days up the Yellowstone River, the longest of our nation’s un-damned waterways. I found myself envious …

My yo-yo frustration with the e-world is a sure sign that it’s time for a break. I am looking forward to getting away from my computer for a bit, to spend time back in the Pacific Northwest, deep in nature, with trees as society. I’ll likely lose internet and cell phone connection. I need some rest from the news and people and even my own commentary and thoughts.

Just to be still, with the rustling of the trees as my companions. While yoga and meditation help recharge, being out in nature for an extended period is the ultimate cure.

Forget not that the earth delights to feel your bare feet, and the winds long to play with your hair. ♥
